Health, Wealth & Healing Fair

This fair is the birth of a dream. I’ve always enjoyed organizing and hosting events, from kids parties, family gatherings, club meetings, celebration parties, to bachelorette parties, networking events, homecomings and more. These past decade I have been on a journey…a health, wealth & healing journey. I just wanted to bring people together that have been on similar journeys and we can take our experiences and knowledge to help others begin or realize their paths and learn to follow them.

Are we reinforcing slavery into our children?

I’m always looking for ways to support my children’s creative side and yesterday my daughter made me an organic and non-GMO strawberry smoothie and brought me a bill for $.50 and then it hit me! We have been so influenced by the slavery mentality throughout generations by our parents, grandparents and possibly great grandparents that I didn’t even realize that we reinforce slavery each time we pay allowance or reward our children for completing their chores. I don’t know about you, but my kids fuss and complain when the time comes to get these tasks complete. Yes we should teach our children to clean and be responsible, but that only instills in them the monetary exchange for work that they don’t enjoy doing. Isn’t that the life for most of us these days? Doing work that we don’t enjoy just because we have to make a paycheck for whatever reason. I find that when monetarily rewarding our children shouldn’t we reinforce it with some they DO enjoy doing? I didn’t hesitate to pay my bill because my daughter makes awesome smoothies and she is raising money for a good cause. Try this with your child, it may be paying them for a drawing or putting on a performance or whipping up a good meal or snack. We will start at home and see where this goes! Seems to me this is the beginning of creating an entrepreneur instead of an employee. Any thoughts??!!

Save that change!

I found myself very unhappy in 2012, I remained grateful and positive about the things the Universe were doing for me in my life…but I was still very unsettled. I finally landed a lucrative career and thought I would be content for a while, I had a nice and reliable vehicle, was running a successful part time independent contracting business and I was in the financial position to purchase a home. However I watched my life become very boring and redundant. I realized it would be easy to become comfortable with working like a slave just to pay bills and be broke the same day I get paid. Not to mention I would be too distracted from my family, hobbies and personal goals. I wanted to be able to enjoy life I wanted to make money and actually be able to do something for myself and family with my money. I began to see my career for what it really was and I was not comfortable with working for Child Protective Services everyday, I wanted to be on the preventative and therapeutic side, not the consequential side and be responsible for removing children away from their families. I met wonderful people and was being primed as a supervisor after my first year, but my position was taking a toll on my emotions and I was drinking heavily and my patience was really short and I wasn’t myself. I began to pray and just followed what the Universe was telling me, I was no longer in control I put it all in the hands of the Creator and allowed myself to be controlled by a higher power. I began teach my children about the purpose of saving money and in doing so I had to practice what I was preaching and save myself. Can’t teach a child to do something if they don’t see you doing it yourself. According to Suze Orman every time we spend our bills, dollar bills $5 dollar bills $10 bills any time we spend our bills and we get change back if we were to save all of that change for one year we will have $4000. Now I honestly can say that we didn’t stay consistent for the entire year, but I can tell you we had a couple hundred dollars saved up and it helped us purchase gas to drive across the country in 2013. Now with new goals ahead of us we have something in mind that we want to purchase. Therefore, we are at it again! Next time you have a pocket full of change, stay mindful of what you do with it. United we stand!

Why do they want us to believe fluoride is good?!

Fluoride is a poison, that poisons hundreds of enzymes in the body. Fluoridation of the water supply is associated with an increase of certain cancers and causes thyroid problems.

Excessive levels of fluoride may be linked to neurotoxicity, hormone problems, and cancer. long-term high intake of fluoride can increase the risk of brittle bones, fractures, and bone abnormalities.

While critics of fluoride were once considered a fringe group, they are now finding themselves gaining a voice in mainstream medical circle. Beyond the contentious debate over whether fluoride leads to serious health concerns is the fact that many people doubt whether fluoride even helps improve the cavity rate of adults.

Your local water utility can tell you whether your water supply has added fluoride. If it does, consider a home filtration system that removes it. Not all filtration systems eliminate fluoride. One that does is reverse osmosis filtration. Other consumer tips:

Infants should not have formula made with fluoridated water. When possible, choose fresh food over processed food products, which often contain fluoride.

Organic food is best, since it also protects you from exposure to sulfuryl fluoride, the most commonly used pesticide made with fluoride.

Limit your intake of meat and dairy products from conventionally raised animals. They are often fed bone meal, which contains high levels of fluoride.

Try to avoid mechanically deboned chicken, including nuggets and baby food, since the deboning process leaves fluoride from bones in the meat.

If you use toothpaste with fluoride, thoroughly rinse your mouth afterwards. Monitor small children while they brush to make sure they don’t use too much toothpaste and that they don’t swallow it.

Below is a fluoride free toothpaste my family and I use and can be found at Whole Foods, Sprouts, Trader Joes and other health food stores.

If you are a homeowner, definitely invest in a reverse osmosis filtration system, short term it’s an expense, long term it could save you and your children from many unnecessary health issues and medical costs. If you don’t own a home yet, filtered water is a better option than tap water. Invest in your health, invest in your life!

Say no to breast cancer and Alzheimer’s!

Research has been conducted beginning as far back as the 1960’s that may prove that the leading cause of breast cancer is the use of antiperspirant. Yes, ANTIPERSPIRANT. Most of the products out there are an anti-perspirant/deodorant combination so go home and check your labels.

Aluminum acts as a pore clogging agent that stops sweating and odor. While you may want to stop perspiration due to work, school or extracurricular activities what you may not realize is deodorant also stops the body from getting rid of harmful toxins. When these toxins are unable to leave the body through perspiration, they gather around in the breast area and may lead to health concerns. The chemical reaction of aluminum to the body can harm the liver, breast and/or brain.

This risk is not only true for deodorants, but also for aluminum cans, foils and antacids. In addition to considering changing antiperspirant products, women should also address other breast cancer risks and find more ways of eating healthy, getting regular exercise, and limiting alcohol. Increased levels of aluminum has also been found in those who suffer from dementia, now that you know a possible cause, make better decisions.

There are several aluminum free alternatives available at Health food stores, the one pictured here is found at Walgreen’s.

I did it because I needed a change!

I gave up my old way of thinking and created a new me in myself! I tell y’all, as I head to work this morning I can’t help reflect on a conversation I had with a family member the other day. Of course many family members do have your best interest in mind…but they are brainwashed with the same slavery mentality as you were so their advice is a little tainted if you have grown beyond them mentally and spiritually. Yes it is true that I went to college and first began as a nursing major, couldn’t stomach it so I switched to psychology and criminal justice with the plans of going to Law School. I always knew I wanted to help people make positive changes in their life, just didn’t realize which path was best.

I’ve worked in enough positions and fields to know that I’m not happy when I don’t have enough freedom. I needed to be able to work a position where I could be myself, have fun, organize, learn, exhibit my professionalism and deal with different people on a regular basis and not feel like I’m on a clock as an employee. After working jobs where I had great responsibility, long hours and stressful case loads I have now decided in a new state to try something different, to step outside of my comfort zone of hiding behind the desk and computer and literally got on my feet.

I have decided to get out of my own way with my pride and worrying about what others would think of my decisions. I was happiest when I worked at McDonald’s as a teen, I was promoted rather quickly and had fun doing so. As an adult I completed bartending school because I wanted daily money and I wanted to have fun while being myself, but my conscious wouldn’t allow me to be comfortable serving poison to my people for paper. I took some time to pray about it and decided to go to a temp agency that specializing in banquet and serving positions. I passed their little quiz and was invited to orientation…the only thing was I had to go purchase a full uniform before attending this orientation and that would cost in total close to $100.

I think I cried that night and asked the Universe what should I do. I listened and began to search Craigslist for jobs in food/hospitality and came across some good ads for hostess and servers and I thought to myself, why wait on a temp agency to send me on assignments when I could just apply directly and have a steady schedule and employer. That thought led me to an ad for Denny’s Restaurant, I figured I start there since I needed to get back in the swing of serving. I interviewed twice and was hired and I must admit this is the most fun I have had working since I was a teenager. I make the same amount I was making when I was behind the desk (when you add my hourly rate and daily tips), but with 1/3 the headache. Instead of being broke every two weeks because the bills are waiting for me to get paid, I have money daily and can budget and make sure our needs are met much efficiently. I can make peoples day brighter with my smile, and give advice with my positive attitude and suggest food options that will improve ones health with my wellness coaching. I work at a truck stop and get the pleasure meeting people from all over the country and different walks of life.

I’ve been able to pay towards my dreams of being an author and motivational speaker without sacrificing the cost of bills or rent because I am in better control of the flow of money. The moral of my story is once you learn to let go of the ego and pride, get out of your own way and begin to do the things that make you happy, it will create more happiness and you will become blessed and start to see how God works in your life. It starts with faith, is your cup ready to overflow??!! Don’t let this government, bills or the economy discourage you..where that stops is where God takes over…take a step out on faith today!

9 Sure-fire Tips to Expand Your Mind!

Sit Back and Starve

Life is too short to be content with commonplace ideas and philosophies society bombards us with. What use is being called Homo sapiens, “the thinking man,” if we refrain from using every bit of time we have left to enhance our meditating faculties? So in the interest of the purely rational mind and for the sake of posterity, we have compiled a list of intellectual tasks and mental exercises you can perform to expand your mind:

1. Start reading serious books. — Stephen Hawking didn’t become Stephen Hawking by reading Spider-Man, and Ayn Rand didn’t come up with Objectivism by immersing herself in sleazy romance novels! Chuck out every non-serious, fun, and emotional book or reading material you have in your shelves and start collecting those leather-bound tome-like ones without any pictures. If the font is smaller than size 8, that’s a good sign you’re in the right direction. Burn…

The purpose of education, the realest ish I ever wrote!

Let me just say that I am not against education…I love for people to get knowledge..I am against the educational system that this country has evolved into, before the industrial revolution..which is the era that was created when the government realized..hey we can train people to work and make money for us, let’s help them forget their natural talents and just teach them what we want them to know. Before this time our people used their natural talents as their business that took care of their families. There were merchants, locksmiths, candlestick makers, farmers, etc. Not to mention how awesome it was to have a bartering system..where its like hey I will give you x amount of candles for x amount of produce. Therefore business owners were able to barter for the needs of their families and only capitalize from those not participating in the bartering system, which were still many. These days they want us to pay to get their idea of education, so we can work to support their freedom, not ours. In the meantime they bombard us with media that shows us all this shit and they brainwash us into thinking we ain’t shit if we don’t buy into it. Nike’s, Jordan’s, big homes, fancy cheaply built cars, clothes and accessories that are made in China. Let’s not even get started on China, that’s an entirely different conversation. What I’m saying is, get educated…if going to college is your goal, by all means do it. What I want you to avoid is the slavery mentality of believing everything you see because someone is telling you that you should. Make your money and invest in what makes you happy. You may love to make candles or sew your own clothes or paint beautiful pictures on canvas. Instead of buying expensive clothes and shoes and helping the rich get richer…try using your own talents to help you build revenue so you can get out of that debt and truly be free. You don’t have to work until you are 65 because they told you so, get smarter and you can retire at 25, 35, 45 or 55 and live a healthier more fulfilling life doing what you are truly meant to do. Will everyone read this and stop giving so much money back to the corporation just to show you got it like that? No! Does that makes me angry? Yes! But hey, the life of righteous is not for everyone, only a selected chosen few..and those few are the ones I’m writing this for. Be smart, don’t believe the hype…it with cost you your happiness.
